Through the years, Donner Lake Vacations have been expremly popular and Donner Lake Realty, Inc. has managed privately owned cabins, second homes, and condominiums in the Donner Lake/Truckee area since 1973. Most units are available for weekly rentals and some are available nightly with a two+ night minimum -- call our Office for specific details.

Some of our units are “spartan” in their décor and/or furnishings and are “just cabins”; others are quite fancy. NONE of our units have towels or linens available for renter use. We do offer to rent linens and towels at $7.50/person. We try to accurately match the unit and it’s attributes with a reasonable price; this price includes rent, 10% tax, cleaning fee, and a refundable security deposit. The refundable security deposit is based per booking, but is increased for stays over one week. This is one reason why we prefer to talk directly to our Guests before booking so you can be comfortable with what you are renting.

We are now accepting "Tentative Reservations"* for the Summer 2012

Donner Lake is a wonderful recreation area with an unlimited supply of summer fun. Fishing, water skiing, swimming and sun bathing are just some of the things to do at Donner Lake. The Public West End Beach (TRPD) offers tennis, basketball, volleyball, horseshoe pits, a children's playground, full time lifeguards, and a snack bar, as well as BBQs, grass areas and paddle boat rentals.

All this for just $3.00 per day per adult and $2.00 (2010 prices) per child under 12. Some rental units also allow entrance to the Homeowners Private Beach, which offers many of the same amenities; those fees are $5.00/day/adult, $3.00 per day, per child 12 years and under -- other Restrictions: Renters must remove boat trailers after launch and NO RENTERS will be allowed at their beach June 26-July 11, nor August 28 - September 12, 2010. Most Golf Courses are public (except Lahanton, Timilick, and Gray's Crossing); their green fees may be obtained by calling them directly -- a list is in each Unit's "Welcome Binder". Also within the Truckee area you'll be able to enjoy dining, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, bicycle riding and shopping.

Our unit Check-in/Check-out days are Fridays (FR), Saturdays (SA), Sundays (SU), Mondays (MO) and Floating (FL) as noted on each unit's listing. These days are indicated on the Rental Site. Those units with a Floating (FL) check-in/out day are available for less than a week, offering a discount for full week stays. Check-IN time for ALL units is between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, and check-OUT time is by 10:00 AM. Because almost all units have back-to-back Reservations, we must insist that you follow these check-in/check-out times (winter and "off-season" times can be adjusted with our Staff). Most units are fully equipped; however, they DO NOT come with sheets, towels, pillow cases, nor dish towels. Also, please note that NO PETS ARE ALLOWED at the rental units, unless otherwise indicated and CONFIRMED when making your Reservation. Maximum occupancy may include sofa beds not in bedrooms and visitors are limited to the maximum occupancy listed. Parking is also limited to the number of vehicles indicated (normal-sized; "vehicles" also INCLUDES boat trailers, which are usually LARGER than most vehicles and can NOT BE PARKED on streets) and may be less than indicated during Winter months. Rent, Tax and Cleaning Fees are due five (5) weeks before check-in; eight (8) weeks for lake FRONT units. NOTE: when looking at the number of Baths a unit has, you may see ".75" or "3/4"; this is to let you know that there is a sink, toilet and EITHER a bathtub OR shower -- not both. We now offer Travel and Damage INSURANCE.

Some of the activities planned around the lake each summer include the 4th of July Parade and F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S, Triathlon, Donner Lake Swim (AUGUST ), Truckee Rodeo, and the Cannibal Cruise. RENTER INFORMATION and Donner Lake Realty POLICIES:

DONNER LAKE REALTY has managed privately owned homes and condominiums in the Donner Lake/Truckee area since 1973. Most units are available for weekly rentals; some are available nightly with a two night minimum. All units are initially stocked with a few days supply of small hand soaps, dishwasher soap, liquid dish soap, paper towels, facial tissues, toilet paper and trash bags. If these supplies are used up and you need more, similar items can be purchased at Donner Pines Market, Safeway, Albertson's and other convenience stores in the Truckee area.

Local telephone calls are Free; long distance calls may be restricted - - NO collect calls. Bringing your computer? Check with your ISP to see if they have a local access number, before you come up etc. Many of our units feature High Speed Internet Access.

The Truckee-Donner Recreation and Parks District (TRPD) operates the public boat ramp at the north-west end of the lake, on Donner Pass Road. Fees are charged for its use and for parking in their lot. Also, to make use of the boat ramps, current boat registration must be presented. For approximately 1.5 miles to the east of the boat ramp, and another short section at the east end of the lake, TRPD maintains boat docks which are open and free to the public on a first-come, first-served basis; piers are for day-use-only; over-night moring is discouraged -- NOTE: tying up to a pier does NOT reserve the boat dock for your sole use -- it is still a public pier. No vehicle shall be parked, except by permit, between hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM upon the Town rightof-way on the south side of Donner Pass Road from the Donner Lake boat ramp eastbound to a point 700 feet

east of Eddy Way. Permits may be obtained from the Chief of Police, located at 10879 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, California, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The Donner Memorial State Park, at the east end of Donner Lake, has a museum, beach and camping facilities, for a fee.

The Town of Truckee has passed Ordinances which regulate the use of power boats, personal watercraft and offshore swimming on Donner Lake. We urge you to familiarize yourself with the boating regulations (a copy is included in each unit's "Information Binder"), if you plan to bring a jet ski or power boat. Be aware, use the Lake with care. {Note: "jet skis" and 2-cycle engines are still allowed but could be banned on Donner Lake; contact the Town of Truckee for the latest information: phone: (530) 582-7700}. Link to current Codes NOTE: Boat Inspections may be required, for a FEE -- Regulations will be posted at Boat Ramps.

Check the current issue of the free WEEKLY magazine (which we provide you at Check-In) for dining suggestions, prevailing operating times and fees of facilities available to the public within our area.

The Truckee Shuttle adds convenience to travel within the Truckee area. It runs from downtown's Commercial Row to Donner Lake's West End Beach. You can also connect with the Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART), which travels between Truckee and Tahoe City, and Northstar-At-Tahoe Shuttle, which also stops at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport. Schedules available upon check-in; a current schedule is also included in your unit's binder. The North Lake Tahoe EXPRESS runs to/from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. During winter, a shuttle is also available to Sugar Bowl & Donner Ski Ranch (when the old Donner Pass Road is OPEN).

All unit descriptions and rates listed in our Rental Site are subject to change. Donner Lake Realty reserves the right to substitute or cancel a Reservation if a unit is removed from our program or becomes unavailable. Guests use all amenities at their own risk. Donner Lake Realty is not responsible for lost or stolen items; we will charge you a minimum of $25 to return items to you.

*"Tentative Reservations" (TR) are those Reservations made by Guests to give the Owners an indication of the demand for their unit; a TR can ONLY be "bumped" by the Owner of the unit. A $100 Deposit is required to secure a TR and is refundable once we are able to confirm those dates and have informed you what the rental charges will be during those dates.

You must be at least 25 years old to rent any of our units.

CANCELLATION POLICY: There is a $25 Service Charge for any cancellation made after your Deposit has been received by us. Cancellations made after the "Full Payment Due Date" may result in forfeiture of all RENT and TAX moneys, unless we are able to re-rent your Unit during the same time period (shorter lengths of stay will be pro-rated); however, you will still be charged the $25 Service Charge. We strongly suggest that you take advantage of our Travel and/or Damage Insurance.

NOTICE TO ALL Winter Guests: Neither Donner Lake Realty, nor the Owner of the unit you rent, can guarantee snow removal. Caltrans, County, Town and private snow removal contractors may not be able to keep all roads nor parking areas plowed at all times during significant snowfalls. Equipment breakdowns and shifting priorities may delay snow removal for extended periods of time. We, at Donner Lake Realty will make every effort to accommodate your needs; however, we can NOT work miracles and do NOT have an "inside track" of snow removal progress. Click HERE for "Winter Tips".
